“I Stopped Thinking About My Stomach All Day”

I’ve always been someone who liked dressing nicely. Nothing flashy — just feeling put together. A nice pair of pants, a blouse that fits well, maybe a simple dress when going out to dinner with friends.
But sometime in my 60s, getting dressed stopped feeling easy.
My body changed gradually after menopause. My stomach became softer, my waist less defined, and clothes just didn’t sit the same anymore. I found myself standing in front of the mirror changing outfits over and over, frustrated by how everything looked on me.
What bothered me most wasn’t “looking older.” I’m perfectly okay with aging.
It was the constant discomfort and self-consciousness.
I tried a few shapewear products because everyone online seemed to recommend them, but honestly, they were awful. Too tight, too hot, difficult to get on, and by lunchtime I wanted nothing more than to take them off.
One even rolled down every time I sat in the car.
After a while I gave up completely and decided shapewear just wasn’t meant for women my age.
Then my friend Carol mentioned this one to me over coffee.
She said:
“It doesn’t feel like regular shapewear.”
And she was right.
The first thing I noticed was that it didn’t try to squeeze me into some unrealistic shape. It simply gave me gentle support where I needed it most. My clothes looked smoother, but still natural.
More importantly, I forgot I was even wearing it.
That had never happened before.
No digging into my waist. No adjusting throughout the day. No feeling trapped inside tight fabric.
Just comfort.
And for the first time in years, I stopped obsessing over my stomach every time I got dressed.
I wear it when I go shopping, out to lunch, church, even traveling. It’s become one of those small everyday things that quietly makes life better.
I think many younger brands misunderstand women my age. We’re not trying to become someone else. We’re not chasing perfection.
We simply want to feel comfortable, confident, and relaxed in our own clothes again.
This gave me that feeling back.
And honestly, I didn’t realize how much I missed it until now.
